Boy I wish I had more time right now but… I just gotta get packed and leave for Rayburn. I too feel fishing is a sport. I also feel that the Aqua-Vu is nothing more than a tool. It is just a more defined fish finder. It is no magic wand that will get you to catch fish. It is just a better way of seeing the fish. You now have an electronic fish finder that paints you a picture of objects in the water. Sometimes they are fish and sometimes they are not. Now with Aqua-Vu you have a camera that tells you definitely if they are fish. So big deal. What is the great advantage? Gotta go hitch up the boat and head for Rayburn. 24hours of drive time and I will be there. — Good fishing, Richard L. I don’t post on here very often, but I own an aqua view IR-150 or something like that. it is infrared lighted for low light conditions, has its own little monitor and battery, 150 foot of cable, and a waterproof camera along with a few other little gizmos to use with it. I got mine in October of last year, so have only had it 4 months or so. In that time I have used it to recover two props for friends, inspect a dock for another friend carry in the boat to piddle with while I have been on the water. personally I like mine, and I feel that any healthy industry has to be driven by  technology, and believe me, there is much technology in the fishing industry. Here is the top technology in the electronic side of fishing. Come spring I have 2 biologists who work for the State of Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Dept. wanting to observe crappie under spawn. I have a catfish guide in tennessee wanting to explore visibly a new deep hole in the river. A currently touring Pro who is very into creating computer generated seminar aids wants to use it to film some short clips by interfacing his cam corder serially to my aqua view. Now I appologize for taking up so much space, but these are all first hand examples of what this four month old aqua view has accomplished. Truth, not speculation! what it does in the future, or if it even gets used, is up to me, the owner. But I could not honestly have made the decision to completely discount the worth of this nice little tool/toy without ever having any first hand knowledge of it. Had I did so, I would have restricted myself, and my hunger to learn and proceed in the field I love so much,, fishing. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – >I work for a wholesale tackle company and all the feedback we have gotten is >great. Response:

i have the infrared unit. it works just as described, well made and a seemingly sturdy unit. What I mostly hear is people think it is going to replace their sonar,, that is wrong, it only adds to it. lets you see first hand what you have been guessing at before. great for determining structure and differences in various clutter readings. down side, it is a time consuming device and range is limited to water clarity. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – >any unbiased opinions out there? thinking of getting one.
