Kitty Skin Disorder Update
Question:
Having missed the original post, this might have already been mentioned, but one possible condition that mimics those symptoms is ringworm. Kitties get it, and it shows up as patchy crusty areas, frequently on the face/ ears and abdomen. Erica
Response:
Hello and thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the kind people that responded with help and suggestions. The blood work for my poor little scabby kitty Gizzy; she has not got the following: Feline AIDS, Feline Leukemia or any serious infection. The scabs/lesions are all over her face (forehead particularly) and on both the front and back of her neck. There are no lesions anywhere on her body, just a little shaved bit on her forepaw where they took blood (painful to watch, must have been awful for her!). So at the moment Gizzy is on a mild antibiotic, as the sores were slightly infected, she had a shot of prednisone (steriod) to reduce inflammation of the skin, and she is on a diet she considers inedible, as its likely to be a food allergy of all things. She is also booked in to see a vet naturopath this Thursday, as we want to see if there is anything else we can do for her. Thanks again for all your help. cheers dyan

I have another idee not yet mentioned. Perhaps there is something wrong with his hormones. Our Fridolin, already under the rainbow bridge, had sore spots over his eyes. After a hormone injection everything was fine. Our vet told us, that sore spots can occur over the eyes and at the belly. Ask your vet.
