Need Help on Cadillac

I don’t think that the computers are so sophisticated that they know when a mechanichal component like a strut needs replacing. I think it’s telling you to see a differnet mechanic. -Simon I don’t know about you, but I can hardly wait for Simon LeBon to die of AIDS so Duran Duran can get the recognition they deserve.

I have a 91 Cadillac Sedan DeVille. The "Service Vehicle Soon" light is on. I know the reason it is on is I need to change my front right strut. But I don’t have time to do it right now and the light is kind of annoying, is there any way to turn off the warning light. The mech. already told me, fix the strut and the light will go away. I hope someone can give me better advice. Please please help. I don’t know who to ask anymore. Thanks. Sam

Thanks for the input. The light actually say "Service Vehicle Soon". The reason I know it is the strut is because I have replaced 3 of the struts before. Everytime the struts went back, the service vehicle soon light come on and stay on. When I took it to the dealer, they replace the strut and the light went away. The dealer has did that 3 times for me already. That is why I am very curious if there is any way to turn off the light before I am ready to take it to the dealer again. Any suggestion??

Sam is that a "service vehicle soon" light or a "sss" light? The Speed Sensitive Suspension (sss) light would in fact point to a strut problem.

The service engine soon has NOTHING to do with your right front strut. It’s an Engine Management Problem, your computer has an error code set from the engine, transmission or the computer itself. — Remove the NOSPAM to E-mail me. Tired of the MLM schemes.
