Request assist.

Question:

Last week sometime, someone posted a request for info on any assistive devices available to help his mother with toileting. I thought I saved the urls someone posted but I didn’t. If you could repost it, I could also use the info. Thanks ……. Ellen

Response:

Hi Ellen This thread is still on the ASA. Thread headed "Is there an aid available" from Grytpype-Thynne (Gerald) on 9th October. He also posted the same thread on uk.people.support.arthritis on the same day and there are replies and websites posted on both newsgroups. Hope that helps Janet Farnham, UK

Hi Ellen That might have been me posting the URL.  Here you are again. http://www.benefitsnowshop.co.uk/ Jayne

Posted this myself Try this http://www.beabletodo.com/Detail.bok?category=Bath%2FHygiene&start=1&… that came from this site http://www.ncmedical.com/ if you can’t get it to work. It is called a toilet tissue aide. Here is another http://dynamic-living.com/bottom_buddy.htm There are others but since these are in US it might be nice to get some ideas from the newsgroup  uk.people.support.arthritis  I am sure they have sites that are UK based. Pricey little gadgets, aren’t they?  Anyone know of a cheaper solution to this ‘private’ problem?

Response:

If you ask thru your OT department, they might get you one that will be put on the insurance. It is worth asking. Otherwise, the first thing out of my head in response to your query was "Yeah but they involve splinters."  Sorry — now who is in bad taste.
