The pump

Question:

What meds do they put in that pump?  If it would work for me I would go for it right now, unfortunately I am allergic to morphene and codeine and a host of other meds so I’m not sure what they could give me. What could they use in the pump that I could have?? Right now I am on ultram which just touches the pain, and on a catapres patch. I get shooting pains in both arms and pray daily they come up with an answer to help me cope with the pain. Tiger

Are you allergic to Demerol?  Almost any medication can be used in the pump. Tiger said:   allergic to morphine, codeine and a host of others…

Tiger -I have had a real problem with morphine as well.  It actually has caused me to go into menopause!  The drug they have in my pump now is sufenta.  Another option is dilaudid.  If either of these work for you, it might be a good option for you. Thanks folks for your response to my question.  Yes I can have demerol, but not sure for how long as it is closely related to morphine.  I suppose any narcotic that releases histamine will probably give me problems as I have a hyper immune system.  Boy, I wish I could give some of my immunities to someone with aids, that would benefit the both of us.
