There's no such thing as a dragon!

Question:

I don’t know about anyone else on here.. but I am a big dragon fan… I’ve always loved dragons, and that’s why my tattoos are all dragons, or dragon based… (One’s a half dragon-half lizard deal)… But I get alot of people calling my dragons snakes or saying "there’s no such thing as a dragon"…. So I usually slap them upside the head and walk away…unless I know they’re joking.. then I give them *titty hugs* (*squish*) But I remembered after smacking the 500th idiot to say that yesterday that there was a book called "there’s no such thing as a dragon" or something like that! Does anyone have any pictures from that book?? From what I remember.. (being that I’m 19 now, and not having much braincells left from the past 3 years) that the dragons in the book were not *serious* dragons.. rather they were very cute.. I would like to at least be able to see that book again.. If anyone has any pictures let me know! :) -Albin0

There’s No Such Thing As a Dragon is by Jack Kent and is a pretty cool book. Good places to find books include bookstores, libraries, and amazon.com.

I think that was the one I had that came with a record that had songs that went with the book. The dragon was orangish and it kept growing bigger and bigger so people would notice it, right? Jess

Dont worry, if you make it to 25, they all come rushing back during the "oh my god, what have I done???" realization.   > that the dragons in the book were not *serious* dragons..

Im not entirely sure what you think a serious dragon would be….are you talking of the kind in "Lair of the White Worm" or the kind in "Neverending Story?" —–.

all it wanted was a little attention.  the parents don’t notice it until it gets big enough to run away with the house.  when they acknowledge it, it shrinks back down. josh —       "even though you know a thousand things, ask the man who knows one"                         http://www.bmeworld.com/obmf

i’m thinking of getting falcor tattooed on me soon.  and my piece for jim henson, dr. seuss, and shel silverstein.  i want to have some of the most important influences of my childhood represented.  i just need to find something that seuss drew that looks like a dragon.  then, when i can find a drawing of puff that i really like, i’ll get that too. my childhood was filled with dragons. josh —       "even though you know a thousand things, ask the man who knows one"                         http://www.bmeworld.com/obmf

The BEST site online to find out-of-print books (in my opinion) is www.abebooks.com I have found a number of childhood favorites there, and the prices range anywhere from 2 bucks to 100, depending on what condition and type (hardback, paperback, etc.) You can email the bookseller, before buying the book, to ask questions or just buy it online.  It’s awesome, and it’s not a blood-sucking mega chain like Barnes and Noble or Amazon, it’s just listings of small, independant booksellers. try the zizzer-zazzer-zuzz in seuss’s ABC book. or his west beast, east beast. they’re cool looking and dragon-like…..’cept the wing thing. it’s about all i can think of though. scott

Yep, that’s the one. It came with a record that, if I recall correctly, read the book to you while you turned the pages in your book, and played a song. I remember the melody to the song somewhat, but forget the words. It’s probably among the stuff from my childhood that got lost in the shuffle between the divorce and my dad not paying the storage bills. I’m not bitter or anything. Nope. Not me. Jess
