To be a conservative, you have to ignore all the science regarding the Green-house effect & ignore all the ice packs that are breaking up, etc. To be a conservative, you are somehow afraid that someone will hurt you if they are gay To be a conservative, you have to believe that businesses never cheat & therefore never have to be watched or regulated (like Enron). To be a conservative, you have to believe that self-esteem is proving that you are better than the average guy by how much money you earn. To be a conservative, you have to believe the free market will create the best art & music, and that there’s no benefit to society in helping the arts & music. To be a conservative, you have to believe the military & politicians (in your party) are never corrupt. To be a conservative, you have to be confused about what the Constitution actually says about the right to bare arms.  You also have to believe the NRA is not a special interest group. To be a conservative, you have to believe that standardized tests are fair and that minorities are not discriminated against. To be a conservative, you have to believe liberals are not trying to help miniorities and that black people are doing just fine. Mike

To label yourself into one group and say that you believe that everything one side of the fence says is right and the other is wrong is moronic.  Most of us have mixed emotions, like me I myself am againist both the death penalty and abortion.  I myself do not choose to own a gun, but do believe that it is protected under the constitution.  I myself believe that all people want to find a cure for AIDS and say that someone thinks that people with dieing is funny and a waste of money to find a cure just can’t be true. I myself believe that Sex Education is still a very touchy subject, and that parents should make the decision of when their kids learn about sex is true. I also believe that sex is not a bad thing and the problem with America is that we make it a bad thing and also believe that sex ed. isn’t going to make kids not have sex.  Let parents have the right to say they don’t want their kids to learn about it.     Let’s face it.  We live in the twenty first century.  And we should all realize that everyone is able to have their own opinion and to call them stupid for having one is a waste of time. If you want to change people’s minds, educate them.  Don’t call them stupid.  Don’t insult what they believe.  Just educate them, or discuss, why you have this difference of opinion.  It ain’t the end of the world, and people are going to die regardless of if you like it or not. Think about it, when was the last time someone attacked your opinion and you changed your mind.  This serves no perpose so give up.     To post this in a guitar newsgroup is rediculous.   Just like the NRA, this is a special intrest group.  You don’t go to an NRA meeting and hear people debating Fender vs. Marshall.
