Who says Bill Gates is doing nothing to fight viri (viruses)?
Question:
Bill Gates awarded vaccine prize STOCKHOLM, Sweden (AP) – Microsoft founder Bill Gates and his wife, Melinda, have been awarded the International Union of Immunological Societies’ prize for supporting the development of vaccines. The prize committee said the foundation established by the couple has played an important role "in the development and distribution of vaccines against major infectious diseases that threaten mankind." The award, which was given for the first time, was accepted on behalf of the couple by a senior official from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation during a ceremony at the International Congress of Immunology Sunday. The prize consists of a small sculpture called "The Antibody" by French-born artist Niki de Saint Phalle. In June, the foundation donated $100 million to an international health fund to fight AIDS. Gates also has donated $750 million over five years to boost global immunization efforts. — Be Well, Larry

We just about got rid of the boot sector viri and with something like NT4 you were feeling OK ish. Then the Macro virus comes in with avengance, thanks to M$ Office software (well the ability to misuse it) not to mention Outlaw express. $750 million is one big guilt trip!! If he’s feeling guilty about cyber viri, he’ll throw money at real ones..

Well, I guess you could always install a Praetorian Guard setup. <g> — Be Well, Larry

In response to Andy M..[Lincoln(UK)], Mike snipped and said… >We just about got rid of the boot sector viri and with something like >NT4 you were feeling OK ish.
I recall an article somewhere with a story about a network administrator who found something dodgy in NT4. Apparently he was digging through looking for password files to see how many users were ‘in the system’ when he found one named ‘nsa something or other’. It turns out this one is installed with the OS. NSA get their own back door to NT4? Makes ya wonder how MS got so far with such dodgy software huh? It makes me think of the Riddler in Batman forever, ‘A set in every living room’. All this in the opinion of Have a nice day. Your Doctor would recommend it and so do I. http://www.mikeswebsite.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk
